What's Happening

Stay tuned for more activity updates coming soon.

Activities:

Projects, entertainment and community service initiatives underway include:

Chester County SPCA SERVICE PROJECT

Ongoing, our participants are making cat toys and home-baked dog biscuits. Then we schedule Kong Parties at the SPCA, where we deliver our homemade toys and treats.  With the SPCA staff's guidance, we stuff rubber Kongs with a mixture of peanut butter, oatmeal and yogurt.  The shelter then freezes them overnight and in the morning they give the Kongs to their dogs to chew, an activity to enjoy and reduce stress until the dogs find their forever homes.  A win-win for all!

INTERGENERATIONAL DAYS

A regional homeschool organization visits each month to get to know our participants one-on-one and help with special projects and activities.

FLOWER POWER & NATURE SERIES

Our participants are using fresh flowers to create centerpieces for our dining tables - keeping things colorful with some outside-the-box artistic techniques.  Projects are centered around flowers and nature, with inspiration from the Philadelphia Flower Show!   Discussions and slideshow presentations (like "Historic Gardens," "Indoor Gardens" and "National Agriculture Day" & Ryerr's Horse Farm) include experts from the community (Great Valley Nature Center - Birds of Prey brings a hawk and owl (!) as part of the program).

And we are planning our outside planters and vegetable garden!

WEEKLY ENTERTAINMENT & LISTENING PLEASURE

A wide range of performers and entertainers (including a magician!) are on the roster.  Come see all of this and more by joining our Center!
